Some people think being a small fish in a big pond is a bad thing.

Not me. Today, I'm a minnow swimming in the vast OCEAN, and relishing every single moment . . .

See this? This is me, sitting on the floor of my local Barnes and Noble, reading a book featuring Yours Truly and 25 of my [wish-they-really-were-my] closest friends.

No way. SO surreal. Walking into B&N and pulling your book from the shelf.

You can see it's a verrrrr-y interesting read.

And here are my two pages, featuring projects I made with fabric sent direct from Ms. Amy Butler herself.
Oh my sweet stars.

That's right, folks. Jade Sims' Craft Hope book is OUT, and our local B&N has three copies waiting to be devoured (as do other stores around the country). You can also order one here.

New Flash! The publisher is sending me a copy to give away on this blog, so stay tuned.

I love this 5-star review someone put on barnesandnoble.com:

Amazing!!!by Anonymous
July 22, 2010: Wow!!! This book is a must have! There are so many quality projects by well known people. But what makes this book unique is that each craft is paired with a charity. The very craft you make can be used to help someone in need. I can't wait to get started!!! This book is a one of a kind! I highly recommend this book!!!

Now THAT'S serious exclamation point use, peeps. I mean, peeps!!!

One last thing . . .

I can't stop laughing at this picture. A barista at B&N came around with a tray of free Starbucks samples of double chocolate somethings. They were coffee-free so we let the kids have one. Here's Lill, her bag stylishly over her arm, Starbucks in hand, browsing the bookshelves. It's SO HER! Is she 3 going on 13 or what?

Happy day, everyone.

Secret Spilled

Hello, blog friends.

Remember this post--when I said I had a wonderful, amazing secret?

I now have permission to whisper my secret to you. I have the awesome honor to be one of the designers in the new Craft Hope book, being published by Barnes & Noble, and out in August 2010.

I know that lately I've seemed like a walking, typing, Craft Hope commercial. The truth is, it's just something I believe in so much, and it's nearly impossible for me to keep my mouth shut on things I'm excited about.

Speaking of being excited . . .
Jade Sims' nursery was featured on Ohdeedoh, and guess what? My baby block/ball set was one of the featured photos. Okay, so my name wasn't mentioned on the actual Ohdeedoh site, but it links to Jade's blog and she links to mine, so, you know, take what you can get, right?! :) Check it out here.

Feeling so very thankful for many things these days.
What are you thankful for today?
