Triathlon 2.

One of the highlights of my summer has been participation in a triathlon training for beginners class in preparation for an upcoming triathlon in mid-August.

At 7 a.m. this morning, the 14 of us had exclusive access to the pool where the actual tri will take place. We swam, biked, and ran the entire course. It was a beast, but . . .

Knowing I can do something, refusing to give up,

keeping up with the cool kids (or coming close, at least),

understanding that nine months ago, walking around the block got me winded. And now I've done two triathlons in one summer, with one to go.

It has been a supreme high for me. BIG time.

It's a summer I will never forget.

Plan to do something that will lift your spirits. Believe in you, and you might just surprise yourself.

  1. And now I feel lazy.
    You go FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Did you ever think (like maybe nine months ago) that you would have ENJOYED this experience too? You are a machine. Giving the energizer bunny a run for his money.

  3. I love that second picture.

See how there are no splashes? PERFECT form.

  4. Ohhhh.... this post comes at the perfect time.

I feel stuck in a rut. So desperately wanting to change something ~ yet knowing how very hard it will be.

Cheers to you ... and the Hope that gives strength.

  5. I am doing a cheer in my swivel chair for you! I love and admire your strength and determination. You are an inspiration to your friends and family. Love you; you go, girlfriend :)

  6. good for u! great pics. my swimming form would not look that good
