"Mama! Mama! Come see what we found!"
Discovering this little guy created some serious excitement.
I've never seen a turtle move so fast. For real.
But, come to think of it, I did overhear Lilly say after I was heading back inside, "Yet's step on him, Ian." Later, they ran back inside to tell me they guessed the turtle was "just dead."
Coincidence? I think not.
Kidding. Don't jump to conclusions. I have two very kind children. The turtle was fine, he had just retreated into his shell.
I would run my fool turtle legs off, close up shop, and pee and poo (yes, that happened shortly after this photo was taken [sigh]), too with these two after me. She has a sword!
What is YOUR most interesting backyard discovery to date?

That's too fun! I get just as excited when I find wild life in the yard...except when it's a snake...like a little bit ago....
ReplyDeleteWe had a turtle, too, and loved him. LOVED him! But, they're hard to keep in the yard. They're masters at escaping.
ReplyDeletehow cute are they!! what a discovery!
ReplyDeletea guava tree and a raccoon family of 5.
ReplyDeleteWe have a joke that we feel like nature is overtaking our house from our Morning Dove (4 children now), chipmunks (2 sets), a family of rabbits, which the neighbor kids get a real kick out of trying to chase them down, and an extra large population of squirrles due to our oak trees. I'd much prefer a turtle ;) enjoy.
ReplyDeleteA coyote ran the perimeter of our yard recently-during daylight hours! C-R-A-Z-Y! TFS. Love Lilly in her royal garb!
ReplyDeleteI love Lilly's outfit!!! Too cute! We found a turtle in our yard a few weeks ago ... he was just plain mean! He was ugly and snapped/hissed everytime we'd come near him! My dad decided it best not to even pick him up :)
ReplyDeleteI love this post! And Lilly's outfit is great! We found a snake in our kitchen once. Does that count?!
