Caleb the Cellist
To my nephew Caleb:
Your performance tonight at your personal cello recital was extraordinary. Your dad, Amanda, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Nathan, Mrs. Steiner, me and the other 25 or so attendees were very proud.
It has been 15 months since your mother passed away. You have handled each day with unbelievable grace and courage. You aced your schoolwork, excelled at cello, protected Samuel, managed household responsibilities, all while maintaining your gentle, kind spirit. Many of us could not have displayed such strength in the face of grief.
I admire you.
Thank you, Caleb, for being just that great. Your cello playing is outstanding. You eat, sleep and breathe cello and we look forward to seeing where it will take you. We love you.

I've been meaning to get on your site for about a month now, ever since your mom gave the address in an email to you... (Hopefully you will remember me, otherwise this post may sound insane...) Anyways, I was looking throuhg your posts and when I saw the picture of your mom and dad it's SOOO how I remember them.... your mom smiling and the way your dad is sitting with his pant leg up a little... memories. (Weird memories, but memories...) I keep kinda up with your sweet family from your mom and your dad's blog but would love to hear from you. You can catch me through my blog theweaver.wordpress.com or the email below...

Oh... I just looked closer at the pictures...Caleb looks a lot like John did, at least that I remember. (I had to purposefully not type John-boy...)
