Almost Time

It's 8:15 a.m. and Ian's not up yet. Don't know what to do without my little buddy awake this late in the morning! (OK, yes I do--mow, make oatmeal pancakes, pack, because . . .)

It's almost time for Disneyworld! Everything and everyone in this house are abuzz about it.

Any Disney travel tips/flying with children tips you could share?

  1. yay!!! we took the kids last year and had a blast. in the magic kingdom, when you get there (when it opens) go straight to dumbo - just walk straight through the castle and it's on the other side. the line gets really long throughout the day. also, take advantage of the fast pass at all of the rides that you can. it really helps having small kids that can't really wait in line for too long.

have a semi-plan for the day, but don't fret if it doesn't work out. there are tons of parades and character meet and greets throughout the day. get an autograph book for the kids when they meet the characters. you can get them at the gift shops.

hit the parks hard in the morning, rest in the afternoon, then go back in the evening for fireworks and rides.

oh, and it's totally worth it to do the princess and pirate party at night if it's still going on! our kids had a blast and met the most characters there. and do a few character meals, we signed up months ahead but can get in for last minute cancellations/bookings if you call. makena was over the moon to have breakfast with the princesses in cinderella's castle.

oh, and do the bibbity boppity boutique if you can. makena was in HEAVEN!

okay, maybe i should have just sent you an email. have fun!!!!

  2. Also, if you check in at City Hall and let them know you are "first timers" you will all get to adourn a special sticker...

My other advice is don't skimp... you may never go back.

This trip will be an incredible memory...ENJOY! Is there space in your bag for a small family of 5?

  3. Traveling: we flew overseas with a group of over 20 family members, and had matching t-shirts made that we all wore on the flight. We had the best attention from the flight attendants and all airport personnel --- we had from age 3 to 60 -- and didn't lose anybody!

  8. Rebekah, Partly because I'm always chasing a two-year old, but I almost lost touch with you forever when I didn't see you on Facebook?! Trying to figure out now how to post and keep in touch on your blog. Don't go, dear friend! I love reading about your life and seeing your creativity. Traci Rhoades

  10. We took Maliah last summer and had a blast. Be sure to check out what parks have after hours, it helped us to plan on which park to visit that day. If you don't nap in the afternoon, we found it was a great time to have pool time. We also used all of our passes to get fast passes which were used by the remainder of our group to use when Maliah and I went to rest in the afternoon. Also, we made the mistake of going to Magic Kingdom toward the end of journey and sissie was almost to tired to enjoy it fully. Have a great time!
